Today I want to talk about one of our best seller—-363 decant centrifuges. Its bowl diameter is 360mm which equals to 14 inch, and it is one of the most popular sizes centrifuges used in Oil and Gas industry. More and more drilling companies started to outsource the mud cleaning services to mud service company, and centrifuge technology is the newest intervention. All the configuration is high standard which can meet most of the customer’s requirement. The bowl material is made of duplex SS 2205/ SS 2304, the screw conveyor material is made of SS 304/ SS 315 and then the surface is protected by the tungsten carbide tiles which is more endurable and reliable, and it can save customer’s money both in operation and maintenance. And the solid discharge port is also used the tungsten carbide inserts. The bearing is still used the world famous SKF. The FHD system is VISCOTHERM full hydraulic drive. GN’s mud recycling system can be applied in many areas, such as oil and gas drilling, diamond drilling, HDD, tunnel boring, piling, dredging, etc. Today we will discuss one application of the mud recycling system based on one case study: the project in London.
Just several months ago, GN Solids Control sold one set of mud recycling system to a UK customer for civil works. This system consists of a double deck shale shaker and a decanter centrifuge. The shale shaker is used for coarse separation to eliminate the large size solids. The screens on the upper deck will have smaller API number than the lower deck, which means the lower deck screen could separate finer solids than the upper deck screen. Then the processed fluids will drop to the tank and then pumped by a screw pump to the decanter centrifuge for further separation. The decanter centrifuge can separate the solid size up to 20 microns. The centrifuge is built tough and need less maintenance during normal operation. The bowl is made of duplex casting 2205 stainless steel, the bearing is made by world famous SKF, the screw conveyor and discharge port are protected by tungsten carbide tiles. There is also tough cover the spring to protect the decanter centrifuge during transportation. And after this separation, the mud could go back to the system to be reused again.
