Couple weeks ago, GN finished the fabrication of centrifugal type degasser, this enriched GN’s production line. This centrifugal degasser is designed and manufactured after researching many types of degassers home and abroad. It could be used in all kinds of drilling fluids recycling system to remove the gas in the gas cut-in drilling fluids for recovering the mud property, stabilizing mud viscosity and reducing drilling cost.
After a few project, keep buying the vacuum transfer pump, we finally decided to do some research and development on our own vacuum transfering. With our partners help, we finish and test it on site with good performance.

Shale Shaker
One of the weakeness of Chinese shaker is we do not have a small sump underneath to make the fluids more flexible, to be able to flow to sides of the shakers, which also supposed to make things easier when design the mud tanks with mud ditch to easier balance mud flow. Today I will introduce two more naming rules to you, mud gas separator and screw conveyor. As these two products are widely used in the oil and gas drilling system, there are more and more customers showing their interest in them. So understanding the naming rules is very important and could help you select the products effectively and efficiently. Let’s start with the mud gas separator: GNZYQ1000A,GN means the company name in short. ZYQ means thename of mud gas separator in Chinese in short. 1000 means inner diameter of the mud gas separator is 1000 mm.A means this product is the first generation, and in future, GN will make more upgrades and improvements for the mud gas separator, there will be B, C etc. and more versions coming out. The mud gas separator is also called “poor boy degasser” which means it’s more economic than the vacuum degasser, but it’s just working under the mechanical crashing power to separate the cut gas from the mud without the vacuum pump.

Next let’s go to the screw conveyor: GNSC14A-24,GN means the company name in short, SC means the product name screw conveyor in short.14means the diameter is 14 inch. A means it is the first generation. 24 means the length of the screw conveyor is 24 feet. Screw conveyor is widely used in the drilling wastemanagement system to transfer the cuttings for final disposal.

Dewatering unit is also called flocculation unit, it means to flocculate the extra fine particles with the help of 2 or 3 chemicals into larger ones for further separation by the decanter centrifuge. In many regions and countries in the world, only a solid control system and a drilling waste management system are not enough to be a complete zero discharge closed loop without the help of the dewatering unit.

In this case, the dewatering unit is used for following applications:

  1. Alongside the drilling rig systems, the dewatering unit is used for separating out the extra particles from the solids control system when the drilling mud in the solids control system has been used for several times and there are lot of extra fine particles smaller than 2 microns.
  2. In a mud plant or mud station especially for the dewatering project. In this case, the drilling mud is storage in some tanks waiting for being treated by a dewatering unit, but this place is not alongside the rig.

There are still some other applications the dewatering units could serve:

Oil sludge project, in such project, the condition of mud is similar as above mentioned mud for the dewatering units, the sludge is of high viscosity and the solids particles are very small. So the operators need to add some chemicals to merge the particles into larger ones. This is a jobsite working video of GN mud mixing system in this case.

In previous projects, GN dewatering units are also suitable for mud tank cleaning projects, with some auxiliary equipment and devices.

In some countries, when the environment standard is high, some clients even use dewatering unit for TBM project.

GN has some standard configuration of dewatering units, mostly ,the dewatering unit is installed in a 20 ft container and could be transported as a 20 ft container. And it is designed for 2 chemicals. According to clients’ customized request, there are more designs available.

 

As a professional waste management equipment supplier, GN is now ivesting a TDU, hopefully it will be tested soon.
